I met Vern in 1968 when I became a 1st year seminary teacher at Davis HS and he was teaching seminary at Viewmont. We were roomates that first year living in Bountiful. We parted ways at the end of the year when I was drafted during Vietnam. We never got back to the same area and only saw each other on occasion.
A tremendous man full of faith and energy and always so positive. He was a great blessing to me helping me be successful as a teacher which I continued for 37 years. I will always be appreciative of this man and his friendship. My love to Eileen and his family.Such a good man!

So sorry to hear of Vern's passing Eileen. May you and yours feel of Father's love and peace at this time. May your home be filled with love and assurity that Vern is about Father's business preparing for those who are left here for awhile and catching up on things from those who have already gone ahead. He was a great friend and we will miss him greatly.

Vern was a dear mentor and a lifelong friend. He gave incredible support to me as a young, inexperienced scoutmaster. He was always beloved by the youth he served for many years. It was apparent in everything he did that he loved the Lord, loved his dear wife, and loved his children. His wonderful family are some of the fruits of his & Eileen's labors.
Anyone that met Vern & Eileen loved them instantly. Vern's will be a have I look forward to seeing again, with it's same contagious capacity.

My former boss and friend Vern Watt Wood. I worked with Vern at WesTech for many years before he retired. It was a pleasure working with him and listening to many a story in which I learned so much along with a little chuckle here and there. I remember him and his wife going to Alaska, meeting his wonderful family, and hearing about his grand children they were his life. Dallin also worked with me, and I miss our friendship as well. Since we haven't kept in contact. He has a very special family. We talked about the Lord from time to time, even though I don't share the same faith we still connected in knowing that Jesus is our Lord and Savior. I know without a doubt he's smiling down upon us from heaven waiting for us all to join him when it's our time to be called. God bless his wife and family may they find peace at this time thru God's love.

We had the privilege of serving in the New York Utica Mission with Elder and Sister Wood. They were lots of fun to be around and they always gave of their finest in missionary efforts. Vern gave us the best tour of the Cornell Campus and surrounding area. Our sincere sympathy to the entire Vern Watt Wood Family in the passing of a wonderful man.

Uncle Vern was a great man and friend. He was very instrumental in helping me in my teen years to overcome alot of fears and obstacles. He lived a great life and left a neat family to carry on his family name and legacy. Love you Uncle Vern and all of your family.
