Verona was married to Brian Dowty, the father of her three children, and they later divorced. After marrying, she raised her children in Kirtland, New Mexico. She spent much of her adult life working in rehabilitation services, first as a counselor and later as a nurse’s assistant, supporting individuals in drug and alcohol treatment programs as well as teens in correctional facilities. She loved dogs, music, romantic comedies, and anything on Lifetime.
In her later years, she lived in a senior community where she was well liked and loved by many. Verona had a contagious laugh and a sharp wit that drew people in, bringing humor, energy, and personality to gatherings and everyday moments alike. Her presence will be fondly remembered by the neighbors and friends who shared laughter and conversation with her.
Verona’s life was part of a larger family story, one that held both challenges and meaningful moments.
As her family moves forward, they carry with them the memories that shaped them and the imprint she leaves behind.
In lieu of flowers, the family requests that donations be made to the Best Friends Animal Sanctuary in Kanab, Utah.
