Vickie Irene Sachs Hansen's Obituary
It is with heavy hearts that we share the passing of a beloved wife, mother, grandmother, and great-grandmother, Vickie Irene Sachs Hansen, of West Jordan City, who passed away on October 31st, 2025, next to her husband, Boyd, peacefully in her sleep.
Vickie was born on January 16th, 1961, to Nephi Sachs and Rhea Park Sachs in Ogden, Utah, and grew up in Holladay. She graduated from Skyline High School, where she enjoyed participating in gymnastics. After high school she took a diverse career path. Initially, working in the modeling industry then becoming a practicing cosmetologist— only, to eventually find her full time occupation as a Registered Nurse. Vickie dedicated much of her time here on Earth helping people and patients for a little over 20 years doing what Vickie did best; she always had a special niche for helping those in need.
Above all, Vickie was the loving mother to her four beautiful children: Spencer, Tabatha, Kerestin, and Courtney, and a caring and devoted wife. At the tender age of only 26, Vickie met the love of her life, Boyd Hansen. Their connection was instantaneous, and they tied the knot on July 30th, 1992. Vickie, Boyd, and their children, Spencer and Tabatha, officially formed a family. The following year, they welcomed their first daughter, Kerestin, and two years later, they added Courtney to their family.
Vickie cherished spending time outdoors, especially camping trips with her loved ones and being in nature. She enjoyed softball with her sister;eventually joining team. During the winter months, she enjoyed snow-skiing on the mountains. In the summer, she would frequent Big Cottonwood Canyon to spend time at the cabin with her family. Art was another passion of Vickie’s, and she practiced oil painting with her mom, often working on various arts and crafts. She would purchase season passes to Lagoon for herself and her family each Summer making trips with her husband, children, and friends as it was always a special treat for her. She was specially fond of all things spooky and magical. Frightmares at Lagoon and Halloween night. In her later life Vickie enjoyed going boating and camping at Flaming Gorge with her loved ones.
Above all, Vickie ensured that her children and grandchildren knew they were cherished and supported by her, regardless of circumstance. She was always ready to defend her loved ones; and anyone she cared for in between—In fact, some of her children’s friends and her nieces and nephews even regarding her as their “second-mom”—” she was always there to lend her helping hands whenever it was necessary.
Vickie is preceded in death by her daughter, Kerestin; and her grandson, Christian; her parents, Rhea Park Sachs, and Nephi Sachs; her mother-in-law, Dawn Hansen; and two siblings, David and Laura. She is survived by her loving husband, Boyd; her daughters, Courtney and Tabatha; her son, Spencer; and her granddaughters, Aliza, Kierra, Sierra, and Westlyn.
