Victor E. Songer's Obituary
Victor E. Songer of Layton Utah, passed away peacefully after an extended illness, leaving behind a lifetime of cherished memories with family and friends.
Victor was born in Pueblo Colorado, on May 23, 1949, to Robert Peltzer, and Barbara Hunter and was later adopted by Harry Songer. His parents all preceded him in death.
In October 1963, Victor was baptized as one of Jehovah’s Witnesses, a commitment to his faith that remained an important part of his life.
Victor enjoyed spending time at Pineview Reservoir, where many family memories were made. He was a lifelong and enthusiastic Denver Broncos fan, cheering for his team through every season. He had a passion for music, especially rock and roll, and reading. He could often be found listening to his favorite music or reading a book.
Victor was well known for his sweet tooth. Whether it was candy, desserts, cherry pie, or any special treat, he referred to them as his “goodies,” a term that will forever bring a smile to the faces of those who knew and loved him. He will also be remembered for his sense of humor, which brought laughter and joy to those around him.
Victor is survived by his children: Jamie Lopez-Rodrigues (Lance), Christina Dixon (Gage), Joe Songer, Laura Havens (Tim), and Dawson Songer. He was a proud grandfather to 14 grandchildren, and 2 great grandchildren.
He is also survived by his siblings: Sharon Kohlwey, Debbie Petranovich, Paula Carapia, Mark Songer (Becky), Cathy Peltzer, and Chris Peltzer, along with many nieces, nephews, extended family members, and friends who will miss him dearly.
The family would like to express their gratitude to all those who offered care, support, and kindness during Victor’s illness.
A service will be held at 1:00pm on June 27, 2026, at the Kingdom Hall of Jehovah's Witnesses 351 W 7th Street in Ogden.
