Virgil Todd Goforth's Obituary
Virgil Todd Goforth passed away on Wednesday, February 11, 2026 due to complications of respiratory failure and COPD.
Todd was born October 8, 1966 in Mt. Pleasant, Utah to Jerry and Linda Goforth, both of whom preceded him in death.
Throughout his childhood Todd loved playing baseball, collecting sports cards, and riding bikes. As he grew older he continued to enjoy baseball and he developed a love for NASCAR and the Kansas City Chiefs.
Todd was the father to Colt T. Goforth, and a brother to Kelly, Michael, Eric Goforth and to Brandie Taylor. A grandfather to McCoy and Carla, and an uncle to Riah, Judson, Skyler, Colby, Ashley, Wyatt, Caleb, Easton, and Branson Goforth as well as Danika, Dakota, and Riley Taylor.
For the last 3 decades Todd struggled with severe addiction. It impacted many areas of his life causing fractures in his daily living and relationships. He became estranged from many during his lifetime. The family finds peace in knowing Todd is reunited with his parents and is no longer suffering from his health challenges.
Todd is survived by his only son Colt T. Goforth, his brothers, Kelly (Elisa), Michael (Peggy), and Eric (Aimee), sister Brandie (Mike) Taylor, his grandchildren, nieces, nephews, and also many extended family that includes cousins he loved very much.
The family wishes to extend their sincere gratitude to all the staff and Drs. At Sandy Rehab for the care provided to Todd during his last four months and to the caring staff at Bristol Hospice Utah for their services, compassion, and support.
Todd’s life was marked by both love and struggle. He will be remembered for the moments of joy he shared, the passions he held, and the memories that remain in the hearts of those who knew him. May he rest in peace.
Graveside services will be held March 6, 2026 at 12:00 PM at Moroni City Cemetery. Condolences may be extended to the family online at https://www.premierfuneral.com.
