Virginia "Ginnie" Ann Bond Barlow's Obituary
Virginia “Ginnie” Ann Bond-Barlow
1936 - 2018
At the age of 82 was peacefully released from this life on Sunday January 28, 2018 at 4:10 pm. At the home of her daughter Kim Badger, surrounded by her loving family. Virginia was born to John LeRoy Bond and Lorraine Emily Youngman on June 17, 1936 in Stanley, North Dakota. Virginia lived most of her life in Salt Lake City. She graduated from East High School in 1955. Married Ianthus Worth Barlow in August of 1955. Virginia’s crowning glory in this life was being the "mom of nine"!
Virginia was very proud of her children and served them in whatever capacity she could. She was a wonderful Homemaker, baker and enjoyed gardening, canning, picnics, road trips, old movies and dancing with the stars.
In her later years she enjoyed going to the movies, watching grand babies, helping friends and trying new places to dine out. She finally got to go on a cruise and visit her friend Sharon in California one more time.
Virginia loved her children and grandchildren fiercely. She was a peace maker and true optimist when facing challenges. Serving was her greatest gift not only for her family, but all who she knew. If there was a need, she took care of it even if it was inconvenient. We will miss her "get it done" spirit, warm smile and hugs. Our hearts are very tender knowing she is not in our mortal lives. But, we rejoice in her life and the legacy she left behind.
Virginia recently served as a office worker in the Jordan River LDS Temple. She had a testimony of our Lord and Savior Jesus Christ, She shared that testimony by giving of herself in serving others.
Virginia is preceded in death by her parents, brother Perry (Margaret) Hagen and Ex-husband Ianthus Worth Barlow.
She is survived by her 9 children: Ginnie (Kevin) Gifford, Kim (Paul) Badger, Terry Houston, Stephen (Michele) Barlow, Linda Kate Barlow, (Cheryl), Jack (Kelly) Barlow, Carolyn (Ralph) Trenga, Hagen Barlow and Jeffery Barlow. Thirty-one grandchildren and thirty-six great grandchildren, with 2 on the way. Brothers, Donald (Dolores) Bond and John (Linda) Hagen.
