Vivian Lee Peila Carson's Obituary
Vivian Lee Peila Carson
Vivian Carson returned to the loving arms of her Heavenly Father on Saturday, October 23, 2021 in Lehi, Utah. She has joined her loving husband James Carson, and her parents Victor and Marjorie Peila.
Vivian Lee Peila was born November 22, 1934, in Trinidad, Colorado. Her sister Joyce joined the family 6 years later. Vivian resided in several states, and eventually met her husband in Vallejo, California, where they were high school sweethearts. They were married after high school, and she supported them as a secretary while her husband attended college at UC Berkeley. After graduation they moved to Arcadia, CA, where they became very active in The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints, and started their family.
In the late 1960s,Vivian and Jim moved to Rio de Janeiro, Brazil, where they had many adventures. This began their journey as avid travelers. Vivian eventually became a travel agent when her kids were in high school, and loved to travel the world. Eventually, they moved to Concord, CA, where they lived for many years.
Vivian loved the Savior and His gospel. She served in many areas of the Church. She especially loved working with the youth, helping them plan youth conferences and Saturday Night Dances, which they rarely missed.
Their home was always open to friends. She was a joyful person and loved with her whole heart.
After Jim’s passing, Vivian designed and built her house in American Fork, Utah, in 1999. She happily resided there for many years where she developed beautiful friendships. She loved having family dinners at her home- usually her famous spaghetti.
She was preceded in death by her husband and parents. She is survived by her children Cindy (Brian) Talbot, Karen (Dwain) Kinghorn and James (Samantha) Carson, her sister Joyce Davidson, and thirteen grandchildren, and fifteen great-grandchildren.
She had many loving caregivers in her later years. The family offers their sincere gratitude to Josh Carson, Michael and Carolina Smith, Melisa Kozak, Carlos Dominguez, and Caden and Jamie Collier.
