Walter "Butch" A Schneider's Obituary
Walter, “Butch” A Schneider, of West Valley City, Utah, was taken from this world at the early age of 66, in the early morning hours of March 2nd, 2025 at Monument Health Assisted Living facility after a long battle of “fighting the hardest fight” with cancer. Born on February 27th, 1959, in Chicago, Illinois to Patrica and Walter Schneider.
Butch is survived by his longtime partner of 24 years, Sidney C and our two dogs, Sir Winston and Lady Katherine, in addition to his two younger brothers, Thomas and Patrick Schneider along with many nieces and nephews. He was preceded in death by his parents, Patricia and Walter Schneider Sr.
Butch lived his life to its fullest, as all his friends would certainly tell you. One dear friend described Butch as full of life, grit, courage, determination and always ready to give you his honest opinion and thoughts, which best describes him. There was not anyone he could not start up a conversation, or share a story and a laugh with. If you were fortunate to call him a friend there was not absolutely anything he would not do for you.
Butch was a man of many talents which included carpentry from building something as simple as a fence to the time he was working in high end construction in Park City, UT. There was not a project he could not figure out. He was a natural talent at anything he set his mind too, such as skiing the black diamond trails, to being a wizard at numbers. He could work a problem in his head faster than anyone and be 100% accurate. He was a sport genius and could quote sport facts like no one else, and let us not forget his beloved “Cubbies,” when they won the World Series in 2016, he partied over 24 hours like he was there in Chicago celebrating with the thousands of other fans. He retired from his working life for a local painting company whom he loved working for 10+ years and he called his employer his dear friend, along with his coworkers.
A celebration of life will be held at our shared home in West Valley City, UT on Saturday, March 29th, from noon to 3pm. For those needing the address feel free to dm me on Facebook under Sidney Collver.
In lieu of flowers, please feel free to share your memories and stories of Butch, as we celebrate the life of a remarkable man who touched the lives of many and he will be truly missed by all of us that knew him and got to share his life with. https://www.premierfuneral.com/obituaries/
