Wayne has been in the newspaper more times than we can count, including write ups for he saving a best friend from dying in a fire, and catching a 6 1/2 lb. rainbow trout at the ripe age of 7 on strawberry reservoir.
Wayne loved spending time with his grandparents loving and learning. He was happy to be at their service.
He grew up hunting trapping and fishing. Wayne made sure that all the relatives had meat on the table. Skills taught to him by his father and grandfathers were passed on by him to his child and his grandchildren.
Rough and tumble was his childhood.
Wayne was always the first man to ask if you needed help, money, or anything else that he might be able to do for you. When he couldn't be in direct service to others, he was generous in contributions to police, fire fighters, and programs for veterans.
At an early age of 17, Wayne enlisted in the Marines and was off to Vietnam.
After 2 tours he returned home and in the springtime of 1971 and married Charlotte S Johnson of Provo. Together they had one beautiful child. They divorced a few years later and he met Patricia Ann Finnegan of Provo. He fell hard for her and she for him. They married years later on March 13th, 1984 in Elko Nevada. Patt and Wayne spent the better part of 36 years loving and fighting and loving one another.
Patty passed in 2014 and Wayne remained heartbroken until the day he died.
He's sustained his family by being a tradesman at the mountain man rendezvous. He was employed at Geneva steel for a number of years but his main career was in stone work and masonary at Ace Plaster, a family business.
