Wayne Allen Riedthaler's Obituary
Wayne Allen Riedthaler died Friday, October 22nd, 2021 at the Davis County Hospital in Layton, Utah. He passed away due to complications from pancreatic cancer.
Wayne was born on April 16, 1960 in Cleveland, Ohio to Donald William Riedthaler and Arlene Gracie Mayer. He grew up in Cleveland, Ohio and was married in 1978 to Susie Saari.
Wayne was a police officer for East Cleveland and then went into security. He worked for Westminster College and the Utah Transit Authority and was well-known among the students and his colleagues. He loved reading, history, sports, and Star Wars. He enjoyed watching TV shows like Home Improvement, Matlock, and the Andy Griffith Show. His favorite thing was to spoil his grandkids who always looked forward to the treasures that Opa might bring them. He was glad to have met his two new grandsons before he passed.
He is survived by his wife Susie, his two sons Aaron and Adam, his four grandchildren Vienna, Miriam, Charles, and Erik, his Aunt Ginny, and his brother David. His parents and his brother, Randy, passed away several years ago.
There will be a private service for family and close friends. In lieu of flowers, please send any donations to your favorite charity or to cancer research.
