It is with profound sadness that we announce the passing of Westin Ryan Hicks, age 38, who left us on Friday, June 21, 2024 in Salt Lake City, Utah. Westin Ryan was born on March 8, 1986, in Tucson, AZ, and his departure has left an irreplaceable void in the hearts of those who knew and loved him.
Westin Ryan is survived by his children, Sadie and Camdin Hicks. He is also lovingly remembered by his parents, Daniel and Tonya Hicks. His brother, Coltin Chase Hicks, and sister-in-law, Brittany Sullivan, mourn his loss alongside the rest of the aunts, uncles, cousins and friends who knew and loved him, including Lacey Dittmar and her family.
A graduate of MMI Institute, Westin Ryan had a passion for mechanics and a natural talent for understanding and working with machines. His skills led him to work as an HVAC and plumbing specialist, a motorcycle mechanic, and a real estate agent. These occupations served as a means to support his passions.
Westin Ryan’s passions included the outdoors, where he found joy and freedom in riding motorcycles and dirt bikes. His adventurous spirit shone brightly in his enthusiasm for snowboarding, fishing, and camping—activities that brought him closer to nature and filled his life with excitement and peace.
Westin Ryan’s playful spirit and unwavering determination to live life on his own terms defined his unique character. He approached every challenge with a mischievous smirk, a sense of humor, and a fearless attitude, inspiring those around him to embrace life fully and unapologetically.
Westin Ryan Hicks will be deeply missed, but his spirit will live on in the memories and hearts of those who loved him. May he rest in peace.
