I am sorry I was not able to attend Wilf's viewing or funeral but I loved him dearly. I worked with him in the Historical Dept. in 1972 when I started with the Church. He worked in acquisitions. He didn't stay but a few months and then went back to Sam Weller's. I loved his English accent and the funny stories he used to tell. We became life long friends because he did a lot of business with my boss, Don Schmidt so our interactions and friendship continued for the past 40 years. That was during the hey day of selling and buying books at the Church and I would see Wilf several times a week. He was always so cheerful and kind. He would also give me a discount on any book I asked him to get for me and I loved that! After Don Schmidt retired, I worked for Glenn Rowe, who Wilf knew well also. I went to your mother's viewing and I spoke to Wilf afterwards when I saw him in downtown SLC. He was so sad--it was Christmas time. I lost my husband 15 years ago and we had similar thoughts and feelings about our loss that we discussed. It was good to have a friend who understood. Wilf always had a funny joke to tell when he came around which always made us laugh. He was such a good man and I will miss him.
