William (Bill) Richardson's Obituary
William (Bill) Richardson passed away peacefully Saturday, March 1st, 2025 due to complications from heart failure. He was surrounded by family and friends. He was born to Ethel and John Richardson on January 12th, 1952.
He had a good heart to all who knew him. Unfortunately, even a good heart couldn't stop heart failure.
Bill loved fishing and camping since he was a kid. Later, his kids and wife shared the enjoyment of camping with him. Bill and his wife, Jane, took their family on lots of camping trips and vacations. Bill had a sense of humor and a knack for making people laugh until the end of his life. He had a wonderful, deep singing voice. It was suggested a few times that he sing professionally. He would often give people nicknames that brought smiles to their faces. He was looked up to by many of the scouts he taught and served.
Bill and his grandsons enjoyed "shooting hoops" together. They also enjoyed watching basketball, football, and wrestling together. Bill also enjoyed playing board games, Candy Land, card games, and tic-tac-toe. He enjoyed teaching his grandkids how to win tic-tac-toe. He enjoyed eating lunch with his granddaughter. Bill also had the enjoyment of holding his great-grandson.
William is survived by his wife Sarah Jane of 52+ years, five children: Rhonda Hubbs, Mary (Nathan) Parkinson, Sarah (Greg) Bennett, William (a.k.a. Johnny) Richardson Jr., Tonya (Matt) Montez, six grandchildren, two great grandchildren, one sister RaNae Stauffer and one brother Paul Richardson. He is also survived by his cats Smoky and Puff. He is preceded in death by his parents, one brother (Blaine Richardson), and a granddaughter (Lilly Bennett).
Per Bill’s request, a Celebration of Life will be held in his honor on Wednesday, March 12th at 1 p.m. at the LDS Church on 8136 South Old Bingham Highway in West Jordan. A viewing will be held the next day, Thursday, March 13th from 9:30-10:30. The address for the viewing is Premier Mortuary 67 East 8000 South, Midvale, UT.
A special thanks to the hospice workers who took care of, loved, and laughed with Bill.
