William Edwards Morgan's Obituary
William Edwards Morgan Jr, age 84, of Riverton, UT, passed away on March 31st, 2023, in his home surrounded by his family.
Funeral Services will be held at 11:00 AM on April 4, 2023 at The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter Day Saints located at 3113 W. 13400 S. Riverton, UT.
Bill, the name he was known by loved ones and friends was born in Salisbury, MD, to William Sr. and Cleo Morgan. After graduating from the University at William and Mary he joined the Navy. While there he converted to the LDS faith and upon receiving an Honorable Discharge attended Brigham Young University, where he met and married his wife of 57 years, Donna Morgan. Together they had four children.
He was known for his generosity and loving sprit. He loved teaching, writing and editing. He was often helping others with their writing endeavors and success. He was a journalist in the Navy and has been published multiple times throughout the decades in Readers Digest Magazine and other publications. He would often have his Letter to the Editor shared in the Salt Lake Tribune and Desert News. He found great fulfillment later in life in serving a calling as a temple worker and serving a Family History Mission.
Bill is survived by his spouse Donna Morgan and 4 children, Tammy (Shawn) Pilcher, William (Hilary) Morgan, Matt Morgan and Heather Lillie, along with 12 grandchildren and 3 great-grandchildren, and many other family and friends.
Bill will be especially remembered for his love of the gospel and fiery spirit that served to strengthen everyone he met.
