William Robert Smith's Obituary
William Robert Smith
1944-2018
Billy was welcomed to this world on January 29, 1944 into the loving arms of his parents Ralph Earl and Marian Staker Smith on the 29th of January 1944. He lived most of his life in Salt Lake City, Utah. He earned his Eagle Scout Badge with three Palms in his youth. He graduated from Highland High School in 1961. He was a member of The Church of Latter-Day Saints. He was a plumber by trade and retired from the trucking industry from Yellow Freight Lines.
He peacefully passed into the arms of his beloved Savior on September 15, 2018 just before sunrise on Saturday.
He will always be loved and remembered as an honorable son, a beloved uncle, a perfect partner, best friend, best little brother, and the best Dad, but most of all he will be remembered for coming into the middle of a game with the bases loaded, bringing each of his precious children home, safe. He knew how to turn little boys into men and little girls into fairy princesses. He will be missed by those of us left behind. His lovely sister Ann S. (Garth) Eldredge, children Robert T. Moulton, Leslie Ann (Hugo) Van Linden, Jeffrey G. Smith, Shelby Kay (Rob) Smith, Jaime Gibb, Sean (Jessica) Gilliland, Matthew (Carol Ann) Mortensen. His thirteen precious grandchildren (his jewels) and his two great-grandsons. Numerous friends with children. He leaves behind his best-ever friends Stevie and Brian.
I will miss his magic. His capacity for love was never-ending and he will always be loved. Just like Jesus.
