Willis (Wid) Lee Tressler's Obituary
Willis (Wid) Lee Tressler, age 65 passed away in Salt Lake City after a long illness, March 16, 2026. He was born on December 10, 1960 in Casper, Wyoming and raised in Thermopolis, Wyoming. He enjoyed being with family, coin collecting, hunting, fishing, camping, rock hunting, backpacking and just being outdoors.
He received a welding certification at the Certified Welding and Trade School in Casper and worked as a welder at Jacobs Ranch Mine. He also worked in West Yellowstone, Montana at a horse concession, where he enjoyed sharing the outdoors with visitors through scenic trail rides, cowboy cookouts, and other western experiences. Later in life, he dedicated many years to taking care of a local rest area, where he took pride in his work and in serving the community.
Above all, Willis was known for his kindness and know one was a stranger to him. He deeply loved his family and cherished the time he spent with them and they held a special place in his heart for his nieces and nephews who brought him great joy.
He was preceded in death by his parents, Willis Tressler and Viola (Tressler) Clark.
He is survived by his brother Kim Tressler of Hernando, FL (Joni), sisters Michelle Shahan of Citrus Springs, FL (Rusty), Kyla Henry of Jasper, GA (Chuck), Sandy Kappus of Ogden, UT, Jeanette Smith of Powder River, WY (Steven), Wanda Henry of Riverton, WY and Linda Little of Meeteese, WY (LeRoy), Jennifer Metz of Lander, WY and her son Brandon Metz whom Willis spent a lot of time with and thought the world of.
A graveside memorial service and celebration of life will be held this summer, with details to be announced at a later date. Willis will be laid to rest along side his parents in Thermopolis, Wyoming.
Willis' memory will live on through his family, friends, and the many lives he touched throughout his years.
