Wilson Cooper McArthur's Obituary
Wilson Cooper McArthur passed away April 5, 2011 at home in Provo, Utah surrounded by his family. He was born June 28, 1936 in Clinton, North Carolina to Charles & Margaret McArthur. Wilson served in the U.S.Air Force for 4 years. Wilson and Robbie, wife of 51 years, graduated from East Carolina University. He earned his M.A. at UNC, and PhD in Radiation Physics from Purdue University. After 35 yrs. in the nuclear utility industry, he retired from the Tennessee Valley Authority. With his wife he served an LDS mission at the Family History Library in SLC 2001-2002. More recently, he enjoyed teaching and interacting with his students at UVU in the Physics Dept. for 8 years. Outside of work, a few of his interest were Magic, Cosmology, collecting science books, and watering cans..
Wilson leaves his wife, Robbie Taylor, 3 children: Greg, Suzette, & Alex; 12 grandchildren; 3 great grandchildren, brothers; Doug, Tommy, Ben, and a sister, Linda.
A viewing will be held 9:30 - 10:30 a.m., prior to the funeral services at 11 a.m. on Friday, April 8, 2011 at the Pleasant View 6th Ward Chapel, 2445 N 650 E. (Timpview Dr.) Provo. Interment will be at 11 a.m. Mon. April 11, 2011 at the Utah Veterans Memorial Cemetery, 17111 South Camp Williams Road, Bluffdale, UT. Online condolences may be given at www.premierfuneral.com
