Zack L. Barnes' Obituary
Zack returned to his Heavenly Father on April 3, 2026. He was born on December 26, 1965, in Ogden, Utah, to Francine Johnson and Bill Barnes. He was the first born of three boys.
Zack grew up and attended school in Farr West and Huntsville, Utah. He learned the importance of hard work and a strong work ethic at Wangsgard dairy in Huntsville, where his brothers followed closely behind. His work ethic continued to follow him for many years as a dedicated dump truck driver. When he was not behind the wheel, he could be found four-wheeling or camping, embracing the freedom of the outdoors. Zack had a way of tinkering and could fix anything. He was always there to help with projects or heavy lifting and was only a phone call away, willing to drop everything and help anyone in need.
He married Corrie Haws and together they welcomed daughters Jamie and Lacie. They later divorced. Zack welcomed children Gage, Shelby, Shawnee, and Zackary. His children would like to thank him for showing them that life is full of adventure and experience. “We walked with you to learn that the simple things often teach us the most.”
Zack was a loving son who took great care of his mother throughout his life. After facing many challenges, it brings us peace to imagine him surrounded by his loved ones in heaven. We will always remember his kind spirit and the immense love that he had for his family, especially his mom.
He is survived by and will be deeply missed by his mom, Francine Rice; his children, Jamie, Lacie, Gage, Shelby, Shawnee, and Zackary; and grandchildren Pearl Shirley, Aiden, and Theodore. He is also survived by his brothers Cee Barnes and Travis (Christine) Barnes; Aunts Darlene Senn, Marty (Robert) Stone, Sherry (Tom) Liggett; his father Bill Barnes; stepfather John (Janet) Rice; stepbrothers Rob (Mira) Rice and Scott Rice; many cousins, nieces, and nephews.
He is preceded in death by his grandparents Howard and June Singleton, Bill and Kate Barnes; uncles Grant Johnson and Jerry Senn; and niece Darcee Rae Barnes.
Rest in peace brother. We know Grandma, Grandpa, and Uncle Grant must have needed you in heaven.
