Allan Wayne Toma's Obituary
Allan Wayne Toma, a man who built a life of family, service and deep devotion, passed away peacefully on January 22, 2026. Born on May 5, 1943, in Salt Lake City, Utah, to Wallace and Mildred, Allan’s life was a testament to the idea that the best things are built with patience and care.
The cornerstone of Allan’s world was his wife, Kara Robinson. They were married on September 2, 1965, beginning a journey of 60 years characterized by unwavering companionship. A significant highlight of their life together occurred after 43 years of marriage, when they were sealed for time and all eternity in the Salt Lake City Temple—a sacred milestone that deepened their bond and their faith.
Allan’s hands were rarely still. As an active member of the Craftsman Club in both Reno and Las Vegas, he was always looking for ways to use his skills to bring happiness and help to others. His service also extended into the lives of those navigating hearing loss. As a cochlear implant user himself, Allan served as a dedicated mentor, guiding others through the transition with the empathy and patience that defined his character.
A veteran of the Utah Army Reserve, Allan spent 29 years making a home in Henderson, Nevada, before recently returning to his Utah roots in Saratoga Springs. He was a man who truly loved to serve, finding his greatest fulfillment in making life a little easier or brighter for someone else.
His legacy of kindness and hard work lives on through his beloved wife, Kara; his sister, Becky Toma Butler; and his three children, Devin R. Toma (Jennifer, McKinzie, Hunter, Braden and Conner), Courtney Toma Palmer (Peter, Austin and Tani), and Megan Gilman (Donny, Chloe, Kyler and Sofie). He leaves behind 9 grandchildren and 6 great-grandchildren who will forever cherish his memory. He was preceded in death by his parents, Wallace and Mildred.
Viewing will be January 31, 9-11 am. Funeral services will follow 11 am – 12:30 pm. Both will be at Saratoga Hills Stake Center, 776 W Lighthouse Dr. Saratoga Springs, UT.
