I knew Arlene when helped in the infant room at my center. She loved those babies and they loved her. Shexwill be missed.
I first met Arlene when I was seven years old, she was then the foster mother of my biological brother Scott. We, my 4 siblings and I had just been placed in foster care and they (Arlene and Scott) had come for my and my twin sister, Nela’s 7th birthday party. I had really missed my brother, I was so happy that he could come visit me for my birthday. I remember her smile and sweetness and how happy my brother was. She was a wonderful example of motherhood to anyone that had the opportunity to witness it.
A few years later, Arlene and Steve adopted my brother. I have known Arlene most of my life. I’ve had many long conversations with her because even though she had adopted my brother, she has always welcomed Scott’s natural siblings to visit, have dinner, or to celebrate holidays.
I could imagine her happy face watch when she passed time do you have to see her first adopt a child, my beloved brother, Scott.
You left a true legacy behind! RIP Arlene, until we meet again.
