Arthur Dean Morrison's Obituary
South Jordan UT, Arthur Dean Morrison Jr. age 77, passed away Tuesday, August 16th, 2022. Art is the son of the late Dean and Wanda Morrison, he was born on April 28th, 1945 in SLC, UT. He lived most of his life in Rose Park and graduated from West High School in 1963. Growing up Art loved playing baseball, building and racing hot rods, fishing, hunting, spending time at the family cabin at Strawberry Lake, and enjoying life with his friends. Art proudly served 5 years in the Army National Reserve.
Art was a hard and dedicated worker. He worked as a welder and heavy equipment mechanic. Some of the companies he worked for included SLC Water Dept, Williamsons, Jack Cooper Transport, Mesco and Big O Tire. Before Art retired, he spent a few years tending bar at the Jimax and creating and selling metal artwork. After retirement Art moved to Overton, NV where he spent 14 years living life to its fullest. Art made a lot of friends there and was proud to call Overton his home.
Everyone who knew Art knows they could always count on hearing a fun story or joke from Art whenever they saw him. He loved sharing his knowledge, wisdom and wit with everyone he met.
Art leaves behind his daughter Mistie Morrison, his sister Karen Davis, his grandchildren Alyssa (Steffen) Hart, Abbie (Jay) Timal and his great grandchildren Dre, Kyra, Aliyah and Zuri.
The family would like to thank the wonderful people at Sagewood At Daybreak and Canyon Home Health Care & Hospice for the love and care they provided to Art during the time he spent there.
A Celebration of Life will be held in Art’s honor on Sunday, September 25th 2022 from 2PM – 4PM at Monarch Meadows Park 13675 Monarch Meadows Pky. Riverton UT 84096.
