Barton Eugene Dahneke, 81, of Provo, went to be with his Heavenly Father and Jesus Christ on Monday, March 15, 2021, with his family by his side. He was born April 4, 1939, in San Jose, CA to the late Marshall Harry and Alice Phil Read Obituary
There are so many fond memories of this great man. Please know we love you Marilyn and your family. It Is our great blessing to know you and Barton. We love you and your family. Please know I am so sorry for your great loss and our prayers are with you. June (and Marty) Siebach. Blessings!
We here in Palmyra lost a special friend, fellow saint and a wonderful brother of Christ.
It is with sadness that we lost Barton Dahneke a few days ago. He was an extremely intelligent man with a sincere heart that knew the scriptures and he taught us with passion. When he gave a lesson he always had us learning and he would ask very deep questions that made us think and find answers.
He was a science major with a PHD, he was an author, teacher and I was honored to be a home teacher for him and his beloved wife Marilyn for the years. He and his wife would sit with me and at times we would go deeper into the gospel for that was where Bart was comfortable, he always wanted to go to the very limits of knowledge, and yes he made me so welcome into their saintly home/farm in Palmyra.
Often Bart and I would stand beside each other in the ward choir and he never missed a beat or note, Yes I fed off his voice, his knowledge and his speccial spirit. Now, Bart is in a heavenly mansion prepared just for him and I am blessed in my life for knowing such a great man, a brother of Christ, an awesome husband, father, grandfather/great, and a friend to all.
I know one day I will see him again and stand beside him in a heavenly choir. I love you Bart, till we meet again my friend. A Paul Reynolds Palmyra Ward, NY.

When we lived in Palmyra he was such a good friend. Our condolences to Marilyn and all the family.
I’m so sorry for your loss. And I’m so glad I knew Brother Dahneke, even though I was so young at the time. I remember during one of our visits to the Dahnekes’ cabin, Brother Dahneke took my little sister and I on a four-wheeling trip through the woods.
The Dahnekes leaving Palmyra Ward left a huge hole, which has not been filled in any way. My best guess is that after having lived a stellar life on Earth, that Brother Dahneke will be a forward going angel with a lot of responsibility...just a "phase change" away :) I pray that bereavement will be at speed of light for his family....I KNOW, he will be interacting on behalf of all of you from the other side....he has been brought ahead of most of the rest of us in this life, given just enough time with his beloved family and those who are lucky enough to know him....but now he is needed elsewhere for a time.....it wont be long....we will all be together again very soon....best anecdote for missing someone is to make best use of this time away to become the best you can be....if you are a Dahneke....that will be something awesome!!!....take courage in knowing who the Father and Mother of your spirits are.....love to you all
