Hanging out with her at Central Office, when it went all volunteer. I volunteered very early in Sobriety.
When I was only about 5 months sober, she went home to New Orleans to visit and she left me in charge. Keys and combination to the safe.! Her trust and confidence in me was such a boost to my sobriety, I couldn't begin to thank her. She shared our story frequently at later meetings. She was an amazing lady and will be deeply missed! I cherish the memory of walking streets in New Orleans with Betty. She made the city come alive. But who can forget her antics at the Malibu talent show. What a woman!

Betty was a person I met at an AA retreat and an instant connection was made. She and I talked about New Orleans, growing up there and about the great food and Mardi Gras celebration we experienced. I could go on and on about things but cannot. I loved her like the sister I never had. I cannot go on as I am getting teary about her being gone. I love you my friend!
