Betty Jane was my mother’s DOUBLE cousin and I loved and laughed at their wonderful stories of their childhood. I was blessed to know BettyJane later in their lives when they were widows and spent time together in Fort Worth or Dallas. They loved to take little trips ... Minnesota reunions, Oklahoma or Louisiana, “all expenses paid “ Casino junkets (mostly pocket change wins...not JACKPOTS) but lots of fun and stories. Both BettyJane and my mom were in their 80’s .....spry, beautiful (that Minnesota girl skin) and undaunted by longer trips to Chicago and the challenges of the huge airport. They went to Chicago to see my precious grand babies. Emerson, a newborn, and her 2 year old sister. As hectic as it was they were so helpful and doting “greatgrands” with hugging, holding, and rocking without a pause ! They were content to be with the babies and never saw the Chicago sights. BettyJane was so beautiful inside and out, always cheerful, positive, and prayerful. Her Catholic faith and devotion never waivered. She was a prayer warrior for all of us. My most vivid memory of her that touches my heart the most was when she rocked Emerson on her chest for what seemed like hours in a very uncomfortable rocking chair at my mom’s house in Fort Worth. She just held the sound asleep baby saying how precious she was and how blessed she was to hold her. Emerson is now ten and I am so grateful for that memory. I am so grateful that BettyJane lived long enough to love on and cherish her own two greatgrandbabies. She took great joy in them, I loved her cute stories about them. She was so loving and dear to my family. I know she is in heaven with Jesus,Don, and her sons and still praying for all of her family left grieving her loss but grateful for the precious memories they had with her. My love and prayers Sherry Ray
