Bob was a faithful member of The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter - Day Saints. He served in many callings throughout his life, but one of his Favorite callings was as Branch President of Midtown Manor Care Center. He had a great Read Obituary
I only knew Bob for a few months, in which time he quickly became an endeared person. He was asked to serve as Stake Baptism Coordinator for children getting baptized. He was very enthusiastic to help in any way he could, and stayed during each child's baptism to support the children and their families. He had such love for these children, even if he didn't know them personally. I was so impressed with his eagerness to serve and the love he had for others. He will be missed!
Dad was always helping someone, or lending a listening ear to those who needed it. Anywhere we went with him he would find people to talk to. He had many wonderful stories he shared with us throughout our lives. I'm so grateful to have him as my Dad. He is with my Mom now, and they will be watching over us.
Bob was always a great man, and Brother in Law. It was so sad that he has passed, although he is in the arms of his Savior and his dear Wife Maureen.
Our hearts and love go out to the entire Oviatt fanily. From 1973 through 1977 we lived directly across the street from the Oviatts as we started our family with the births of Jill and Karen. Their love and support were unlimited from the first day of our move there. Bob, Maurine, and the children made our years there unforgettable. Bob's service in the church was a blessing to us and all the members of the ward. The Oviatt children were special in the lives of our daughters. We have always been thankful for them for the time we lived there until we moved to Illinois. We pray for blessings on the entire family.
Bob has been an example of kindness and compassion to me and my family. I remember as a teenager, going to visit Jeff and Bob and Maurine would welcome me and my siblings. we would eat "Chinese ice cream" and watch movies. As a ward member Bob was a great leader, and exampleof faith. He showed kindness to me with a hug and a joke to make me smile. He was kind to my sons and friends to my husband and family. A second family to us. We will miss his smile and humor, his faith and testimony. We love the Oviatt family and pray for comfort. Families are Forever.

So Very Sorry for your loss. Such a wonderful fun kind person. I know you will miss him terribly. I just keep thinking about his reunion with your Mom and how joyous that had to have been. I have SO MANY fond memories of him & your Mom, and ALL of you. We have shared many fun and laughable times together. May friends and family comfort you through this difficult time.
