In 1962 when he was stationed in Italy, he sent me a porcelain doll about 2 feet tall. I kept that doll on my bed for at least 5 years. That was the best gift he could have given me. My parents were so afraid of he Bay of Pigs in
1963. Carl’s ship was sent to Cuba but Russia backed down! I really didn’t understand (being 9 years old) but thru the years I understood the fear my parents felt. Thank you for your service my brother! I luv you💕
