Carol Jean Purdy Guy's Obituary
Carol Jean Purdy Guy, 85, left this life on 1 April, 2026 at her home with her five daughters by her side.
She was born on November 10, 1940 in Ogden, Utah to Bernice Kruitbosch Purdy and Edmund (Ted) Purdy.
She attended Ben Lomond High School where she was a proud Scot cheerleader.
Carol was married to Richard Gardiner, James Eldridge, Joseph Nattress and Charles Guy. From these marriages came six children, Shelly (Ray) Clark, Sherry Eldridge, Christy (Gary) Kuni, Lisa Martinez, Tracey (Rick) Gee, and Cameron Nattress.
She enjoyed working in her grandfather’s orchards as a teenager. She and Joe owned and operated a small business (Trade Wind Imports) in downtown Ogden. She held numerous retail jobs. She retired from the federal government as an accounting technician.
She loved reading, gardening, shopping and yearly mother-daughter trips. She was active in her younger years, cross country and downhill skiing, kayaking, bike riding, hiking and walking. She was a beautiful young-looking woman and loved when people thought she was one of her daughter’s sister.
She is survived by her daughters Shelly, Sherry, Christy, Lisa and Tracey. She was predeceased by her parents and only son Cameron, which was the heartbreak of her life. She is also survived by brothers John Purdy and Robert (Sylvia) Purdy. She leaves behind 13 grandchildren and 20 great-grandchildren. She is also survived by her beloved yorkie Roxy.
The family would like to express our sincere appreciation and thanks to her hospice team, Jan Postel and Cassidi. We can never thank them enough for their tender treatment.
There will be an open house type Celebration of Life in her honor at Country Meadows Community Center at 3750 Midland Drive, Roy, UT on April 17th, 2026 from 5-8 pm. There is no set schedule of events.
