Carol Pettingill's Obituary
It is with profound love and gratitude that we announce the passing of our beloved Mother and Grandmother, Carol, who left this world peacefully at the age of 89. Born in Malad, Idaho, she was a beacon of kindness, faith, and unwavering service to others. Carol was preceded in death by her devoted husband, Erle LeeRoy Pettingill; her cherished daughter, Vicki Lee Pettingill; her parents, Virgil and Maude Reese Harris; and her brothers, Reid and Phil Harris. She is survived by her three children; Paula (Alipate) Uasike, John (Lynn) Pettingill, and Jeff Pettingill. She is blessed with 10 grandchildren and 17 great grandchildren.
Raised in Portage, Utah, Carol’s life was a testament to the values she held dear. Every morning, she began her day on her knees, praying for guidance to serve those in need. This daily commitment led her to touch countless lives, offering a listening ear, a helping hand, and a heart full of love.
Her home was a sanctuary for many, always open to anyone in need. Whether it was baking wedding cakes, arranging flowers, providing shelter, or offering a ride, Carol gave freely without hesitation. She believed that family was not defined by blood but by love, and she lived this truth every day.
Carol’s legacy is one of love, service, and faith in action. As we bid farewell, we find comfort in knowing she is reunited with her sweetheart and daughter in heaven. Until we meet again, we will continue to build a bigger table, say yes to those in need, and live by the example she set.
