Charles W. Ford, 86, passed away Tuesday, January 15, 2019 at home after a valiant battle with Parkinson’s Disease.
Charles worked hard his whole life. He considered education to be of utmost importance. Charles had a career in electrical engineering. He was always interested in learning new things and encouraged family to obtain knowledge and skills. Charles was an amazing handyman. He applied these skills on everything from working on cars to home repairs. He had an exceptional analytical mind and he excelled at problem solving and making things work.
Charles enjoyed making barbecue on the weekends and the family all enjoyed the delicious feasts that came to the table. Fishing was one of his favorite pastimes. All the children have memories of going with him to catch a fish.
Charles, a native Floridian, was the son of John Levi and Zora Ford. In 1952, while in the Air Force and stationed in Oregon, he met and married his wife Joyce. Surviving Charles are their children; James (Janice) Ford, Jackie (Dave) Efros, Judy (Craig) Patterson, and Becky Boyd. He also leaves behind his sister Effie Goff, 19 grandchildren, and an ever-growing number of great-grandchildren as well as many beloved nieces and nephews. He was predeceased by his wife Joyce, his brother Jasper, and his son in law, Robert Boyd.
