Cody and Dustin Starvation Lake shenanigans
More pics of Cody and some of our young adventures. Canada fishing in 97. 4 wheeling the Toyota truck he rebuilt. Boating at starvation and powell. Island park Idaho cabin and taking the sled across the river for the first time. The outdoors is where our hearts always led us.
I'm Frank Young. Cody's been my best friend since elementary school. Through Cub scouts and boy scouts, middle school through high school. We did lots of fishing with him and his dad paul on the Provo River or in Idaho. When we were 18 he came with me up to Canada fishing. We shared so many fun adventures and memories. Our most recent was a Diy jet raft trip up the Ivershak river 60 miles to hunt caribou. My heart hurts deeply and I'll forever be grateful for our friendship. Cody and his family was a huge part of my whole childhood and Into adulthood. Cody was one of the most responsible, smart, funny, good person I've known. He had so much integrity and we shared the same values. I love you buddy. And will always think of you. 💙. I will forever keep a piece of you with me.
Cody had a kind heart. Cody was always there to help others . His kindness I saw many times fishing on Ship Creek. He would have rather seen some little kid have a good time catching fish than fish himself often sharing his secret bait with others, guaranteed to get a fish on. It was always about the experience, the people, the smiles, memories. Good memories. Seldovia when we all drove out to help someone in need to shore up their roof that was leaking. I learned a lot from Cody, hunting, fishing, but it all came back to enjoying life with friends and family. Cody loved his family above all else and the smiles and goofiness with Audrey (Bear) and Paul, the playful banter with Gen. Cody, buddy, -you will be missed.
I met Cody in 2010 when I was a new Hire at Southern Air… I was new and had no idea how to get from Liege Belgium airport to hotel…lol… thank god I ran into him a few minutes later….and we have been friends ever since. He was also my First Captain when I was First officer on the 747….
Cody and I have hung out in many countries together and when I came to UPS, I was an advocate for him to be hired. We would talk on the phone regularly and see each other transiting the hub in Louisville occasionally. He would sometimes call and ask if I wanted salmon that he caught fresh and then he would personally deliver it to me all the way from Anchorage. I saw him on March 4th in Louisville and I grabbed him gave him a BIG HUG and introduced him to my First Officer…. I’m thankful I gave him that hug. He was a good hearted human who was always calm and professional. I will miss him…. I’m writing this for his family because they need to know he was loved and admired by everyone….this world needs more people like Cody..
