Colby Duane Lancaster's Obituary
Colby Duane Lancaster is a man who has left an indelible print of laughter and joy with every person he met. His character defining chuckle was like a magnet drawing every person to him. Every child that saw him was soon held, played with, and felt like they were his favorite! Every adult was also immediately drawn to him the same way. Regardless of who you were, Colby loved and accepted you unconditionally. Colby has a heart as big as the great outdoors which he loved. His heart is open to everyone he ever met.
Colby was born July 22, 1980. His mother Melanie Hansen-Roylance and his father, Troy Alan Lancaster loved him and his character quickly grew to help them know the joy of life. He made sure there was never a dull moment. His three brothers grew up close together and are proficient at the art of teasing. Few men have mastered the skill of using sarcasm for good to bring a smile like Colby. He is every whit as skilled as any Jedi. His older brother Joshua, and younger brothers Zachary, and Rand have learned from him well. His many cousins, nieces and nephews, aunts, uncles, etcetera, will forever be better from being around their Colby. He was deeply loved by his step-father, Alan Roylance, who passed away three years ago, and step-mother, Kari Lancaster, and Colby’s bonus brothers and sisters including Christy, Alli, Chase, Brooklyn, Cole, Sydney, Alex, Leslie, Andy, and Tommy. His awesome fiancée Michelle Peterson and her loving daughters, parents and grandchildren have been a blessing to the whole family and Colby loves them beyond description. His extensive families will continue to cherish their individual relationship with him.
Colby is a craftsman in many forums. Talented with wood or metal, or planning large events, Colby excelled. He has worked in cabinetry, and as an event planner for adventure races. His brilliant creativity helped in every situation. Whether repairing a vehicle, a fence, or training a colt, he constantly found new ways to fix a problem. Colby passed away tragically on September 1, 2020. We will miss and love our dear Colby. There is an “Uncle Colby” sized hole in our hearts that won’t be filled, “Until we meet again”.
Funeral services will be on Tuesday September 8th at 1pm MST with viewing starting at 11am. Services will be at the Payson LDS wardhouse located at 902 W 400 N, Payson, UT 84651.
