Dale Charles Ellis' Obituary
Dale Charles Ellis went home to be with his loving wife Kathryn on August 26th, after a long battle with dementia. Dale was born in 1942 in Seattle, Washington to Marian and Robert Ellis.
Dale graduated from South High School where he met Kathy. After serving a faithful LDS mission in North Carolina and Virginia, Dale and Kathy were sealed in the Salt Lake City temple on August 18th, 1965. Dale and Kathy spent 53 wonderful years together and he adored and cherished her.
Dale was an avid people person who loved sports, especially BYU and The Utah Jazz. He also enjoyed all things Disneyland, cameras, and movies. Long before smartphones were invented, Dale could be found capturing life from behind the camera for family, friends, and his fellow ward members and neighbors.
Dale had the kindest demeanor and never met a stranger. He worked for Inkley’s as the store manager for over three decades and made many friends during that time. He retired from employment with the LDS Church.
Dale is survived by his loving children, Tysen Ellis, Karissa (Cy) Hendricks, and Elissa (Niels) Rask and his five grandchildren, Niels Rask, III (20), Aricin Rask (17), Ayden Hendricks (14), Logan Hendricks (9), and Kaiya Hendricks (8), his brother Merwyn Ellis and his two half siblings Steve Ellis and Mary Inge. Dale is preceded in death by his parents, his wife Kathy, and his brother Bob Ellis.
