I met Ray on the Weber State bus he quickly became a highlight of my everyday life. After a very serious gunshot accident in July of 1974
I had MUCH to re-learn. my best friend was this fun / accepting man who drove the bus that I rode most every day with. Ray quickly became my VERY, VERY good friend, in fact I likely spent more time riding the bus with Ray than I did at school. EVERYONE NEEDS A PLACE WHERE EVERYBODY KNOWS YOUR NAME, AND THEIR ALWAYS GLAD YOU CAMEYOU WANNA BE WHERE YOU CAN SEE TROUBLES ARE MUCH THE SAME.YOU WANNA GO WHERE EVERYBODY KNOWS YOUR NAME. Ray provided this place for me. this mobile place was with Ray wherever he invited me to go! We ALWAYS had fun, regardless of if that was to a Tupperware party at his house, or any of several other houses including my own. or Pheasent hunting, or hauling hay or, Superbowl parties at his house or any of any several other events we attended together I HAD CHOOSEN RAY TO BE MY EXAMPLE ON HOW TO LEARN TO RE-LEARN. (And there are a multitude of things he taught me without his knowledge that I was watching him I had to learn how to treat others, how to blink my eyes, tell fun jokes. What to say and what not to say?? This communication on the bus continued long after I graduated from Weber State (Which he attended,) and long after I got married (Which he also attended in a multicolored tux.) FUN STORY THERE of course everything with Ray was fun.
To most of my children he was known as Uncle Ray. He visited our house many times as Santa Clause. Ray also helped me plant my lawn and gave me 3 Cotten less cottonwood trees that grew to be the largest trees in the entire neighborhood.
We had plans to spend the rest of our lives together, meeting at a local diner for a drink, chat and a little lunch. I never did actually tell him this, but I Love Ray very much!
