Dan M Lindsey's Obituary
Dan M Lindsey passed from this life on January 5, 2024 at 1:15pm. He so looked forward to reuniting with Launa Gae, the love of his life. His one great wish was to take her in his arms and dance with her again.
Dan was born October 7, 1942 to Dan Monroe Lindsey and Margaret Maryette Finn Lindsey in Flint, Michigan. The youngest of three children and the only boy. He loved learning and music. In high school he learned to play the french horn and sang in the choir. He was a masterful teacher and storyteller. We will miss his many stories teaching us about family history, faith and love. He had many jobs in his life. He spent most of his working life as a teacher and an entrepreneur.
He served a mission in France and Belgium 1962-1964 for the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints, teaching the gospel of Jesus Christ in the French language. During his mission he gained a love for languages and cultures and brought this love into his teaching and service.
He faithfully served in various callings for the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints throughout his life including Bishop, Seminary Teacher, Counselor, and High Counselor. He most enjoyed serving as a Temple Worker in the Provo Utah Temple and delighted in any opportunity to assist patrons in his mission language.
On June 3, 1965, Dan married Launa Gae Larson for time and all eternity in the Los Angeles California Temple of The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints.
Dan is survived by his eight daughters, Kristen Jacot (Ezra) of Orem, UT, Karen Zea (Johnny) of Lakeshore, UT, Lisa Choma (Bob) of Etna, WY, Renée Lindsey of Orem, UT, Deanna Rowen (Mike) of Orem, UT, Sarah Lindsey of Orem, UT, Elizabeth Lindsey of Orem, UT, and Melissa Nitta (Logan) of Orem, UT; 25 grandchildren; 4 great grandchildren.
He was preceded in death, and no doubt joyfully greeted on the other side of the veil, by his wife Launa Gae Larson Lindsey, parents Dan and Margaret Lindsey, sisters Danice Haderlie and Margaret Edwards and his granddaughter Shamilee Olson.
Services will be held on Tuesday, January 16, 2024 at 10:30am, at the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints building located at 50 South 800 East in Orem Utah.
