Daniel R Huch's Obituary
Daniel Raymond Huch, loving husband, father and grandfather, passed away peacefully surrounded by family members on November 7, 2012 due to cardiac arrest. He was born February 9, 1946, in Gowanda, New York, to Raymond John and Ardyce Chloe Huch. He graduated from Gowanda Central School, where classmates nicknamed him "The Whiz" because of his academic and athletic prowess. He went on to receive a bachelor of arts degree in communications from Brigham Young University, after which he and his family moved to Pittsburgh where he began his career as an advertising executive.
Dan's advertising career spanned parts of six decades, during which time he worked for Ketchum, MacCleod & Grove, David W. Evans Advertising and his own firm, Huch Marketing Communications. His achievements include leading the same client account (U.S. Steel Chemicals/Aristech) for over twenty years. Other prominent clients included Zion's Bank, Morton Thiokol and Nature's Way. In addition, he produced a number of community service advertisements focusing on children's issues.
Dan married Cynthia Louise Gabel on June 18, 1966, in Collins, New York. Their marriage was solemnized in the Salt Lake temple on May 24, 1967. They later divorced. He married Stefenee Nielsen on January 24, 1987 in Provo, UT. Their marriage was solemnized in the Jordan River temple on October 24, 1995.
Dan was an active member of the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints and served faithfully in a number of church callings, including a service mission at the Sandy, UT, bishop's storehouse. He also served diligently for several years as the president of the Village on the Green Homeowners Association.
Dan is the father and hero of four children who love him dearly. They are Terrell Daniel (Vickie) of Libertyville, IL; Todd Douglas (Ariel) of Kearns, UT; Thomas Deron of Pittsburgh, PA; and Tiffany Dawn (Chris) Sanders of Lehi, UT. He is survived by his wife, children, ten grandchildren, a brother, Robert Edward (Leslie) of Buena Vista, VA, nieces and nephews, and his beloved furry companion, Sadie. He was preceded in death by his parents.
Viewings will be held at the Draper Utah South Mountain LDS stake center, 1911 East Gray Fox Drive, Draper, UT, on Friday November 9, 2012, from 6:30 to 8:30 p.m. and on Saturday November 10, 2012, from 10:00 to 10:45 a.m. Services will be held at the same location on Saturday November 10, 2012, at 11:00 a.m. Interment at the Orem City Cemetery.
