Daniel Lemmon's Obituary
Daniel “Dan” Lemmon, age 68, of Riverdale, Utah, passed away on December 4, 2025.
He was born on July 24, 1957, in Ogden, Utah to Duane Alfred Lemmon and Wanda Lanae Lemmon (Atkinson). Growing up Dan had many fond memories of attending Lorin Farr Elementary and Central Jr. High School in Ogden. His family moved from Odgen to Roy where he graduated from Roy High School in 1975. Upon graduation Dan went on to enlisted in the United States Navy. He was an aircraft engine mechanic on the P3 Orion aircraft. He was stationed at Barbers Point Naval Air Station in Oahu, Hawaii and traveled to many exotic places around the world. His service to his country was one of his greatest sources of pride.
After being honorably discharged from the Navy, Dan went on to have a successful career as a jet engine mechanic in the assembly and test department at Williams International in Ogden, Utah until his retirement.
While working at Williams International he met the love of his life, Kathy, through her sister Susan. They were married in Sunset, Utah on June 30, 1988. Dan and Kathy have made their home in Riverdale, Utah for over 25 years.
Dan was known for his big personality and legendary sense of humor. He was the kind of person who could make a room erupt with laughter with his unforgettable stories, pranks and shenanigans. Those moments of laughter and joy created countless memories that will be forever cherished.
Dan had a soft spot for every pet he met. His own pets were not just companions – they were family, each one cherished and lovingly spoiled with treats.
He was an avid outdoorsman who especially loved hunting, fishing and camping with his family and friends. His kids and grandkids will always remember his late-night campfire stories, especially the one of the terrifying “Tin Can Man.” He won several fishing tournaments in Utah and the surrounding states. Dan was also very proud of his chokecherry syrup recipe which took him years to perfect. He had a passion for horror movies (both classic and modern), Rock & Roll music, Harley Davidson motorcycles and fast cars. He liked to spend nice days cruising in his Corvette, popping in on friends and family.
Dan is survived by his wife Kathy; son Daniel (Yianna) Lemmon; daughters Daina (Billy) Hughes, Kelsie (Trevor) Lemmon, and Athena Alsup; brother Mark Lemmon; grandchildren Bryson, Raevyn, Brynlee, Jackson, Haedyn, Weston, Rocky, Addison and Alli; and many nephews and nieces; and his beloved pets Rudy, Red and Mr. BB. He is preceded in death by his parents; siblings Tim, Sharon and Michael; and dogs Frankie, Maxwell and Luther.
In keeping with Dan’s wishes, family and friends are invited to attend graveside ceremony that will be held on Friday, the 12th of December at 1:30 PM at Lindquist Washington Heights Memorial Park, 4500 Washington Blvd, Ogden, UT.
