Darren William Fox's Obituary
Darren William Fox, our beloved husband, father, and brother passed away unexpectedly in his home in Provo, Utah on Thursday, January 25, 2024, surrounded by family. He leaves behind a legacy of love, compassion, selflessness, and service.
Darren was born to Jewell and William Fox on August 23, 1965, in Salt Lake City, Utah. He was the younger of two siblings. He spent his childhood in Utah where he attended school and graduated from Provo High School in Provo, Utah in 1983. He enjoyed participating in high school football and wrestling. After high school, he attended Brigham Young University where he earned a Bachelor’s Degree in International Relations. He later worked on a Master’s Degree in Linguistics. Darren served a mission in Bangkok, Thailand from 1985 to 1986, which is where his wife Kim also served her mission from 1988 to 1989.
Darren and his sweetheart Kim were married on August 18, 1989, in the Manti Temple. They were happily married for 35 years and have two children, Haley Amanda and Levi Jacob Fox, whom they love and cherish. At the time of his passing, Darren was working as the Long-Term Eligibility Services Supervisor for the State of Utah and had worked for the state for 26 years. In his free time, Darren enjoyed attending BYU sporting events and Jiu Jitsu, where he had earned a double black belt.
Darren’s death leaves a very big hole in many of our hearts and void in our lives as he lived a life of kindness and Christ-like service. He was always so positive and concerned about the welfare and happiness of his family and others. We will miss his infectious smile and good works which touched countless others.
Darren is survived by his wife Kimberly Fox, daughter Haley, son Levi, and brothers Greg (Debbie) Fox, and Russell (Natalie) Bryant.
The family expresses their heartfelt gratitude and appreciation to the Provo Fire & Rescue Paramedics and the Utah Valley Hospital Emergency Room Medical Staff for the care they provided Darren.
A viewing will be held on Wednesday, February 7th at 9:00am at The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-Day Saints on 1555 N. 1350 W. in Provo (84604). The funeral will be at 11:00am in the same church building after the viewing.
