David Robert Hill's Obituary
David Robert Hill, 64, a unique and independent spirit, was born July 26, 1961, and passed away on November 19, 2025, in Sandy, Utah, leaving behind a legacy of intelligence, creativity, and a deep love for his faith, family, and the outdoors.
David was a dedicated member of The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints. He served a mission in Copenhagen, Denmark, where he worked as the mission president’s assistant and later had his mission extended to complete an assignment in Iceland. He remained a faithful member of the Church and dutifully carried out responsibilities of various callings over the years.
Born with a curious mind and skilled hands, David spent his life raising fish and cultivating water plants, always finding joy in working with the earth. He was happiest surrounded by nature—whether camping under the stars, riding his motorbikes despite the worry it caused his loved ones, or tending to the ever-changing projects in his backyard.
His backyard was more than a space; it was a canvas for his imagination. From countless evolving projects to his final creation—a giant teepee beside a miniature lake—David built places where he could camp, fish, and live in harmony with the world he loved so much.
David’s love extended to his loyal companions—his three big dogs—who were constant sources of joy, comfort, and adventure. They were by his side through many of his projects and outdoor pursuits, embodying the bond he felt with all living things.
David is survived by his two sons, Remington (Stefanie) and Colton (Heather). He is also survived by his parents, Ivan and Gay; his sister, Robyn (Bill); his brothers, Brad (Holli) and Dan (Christie); and many beloved nephews and nieces. He loved to hunt with his father, brothers, sons, and nephews, sharing in the traditions and adventures that bound them together. He is also remembered by Paula, the mother of his sons, with whom he shared many years of marriage.
He built his world with his own hands, and now his spirit rests beneath the stars he so dearly loved.
