Thad Weaver
Uncle Deloy was known as the “fun” uncle by many people.
Just a couple of years ago, while I was visiting my family (Jack) at chokecherry. We decided to go on an atv ride and pack a lunch.
The trail that we chose was one of my favorites. It is a very rough riding, rocky, muddy areas driving through streams type of trail.
I failed to remember that the trail is only wide enough for atvs not utvs.
We stopped at some of the tight spots and I asked Deloy if he thinks he can make it. He said he thinks he can and let’s keep going. We kept going. I stopped at another tight spot. He said he can make it. Let’s keep going. After a few more stops. We made it to the end. We had lunch and some laughs. Then I found out how scratched up his arctic cat side by side had gotten and he even tore off his side mirror.
I felt bad since it was my idea. I apologized and he said with the biggest smile, “I am having a great time and don’t worry about his side by side. This is all worth it!”
He will be missed by all.
