I remember Don so well while I was growing up in Centerville. When his parents came to visit our grandparents, we happily explored. He was so much fun to hang around with, always finding ways to have fun. Donnie convinced us to catch tiny little frogs in the pond (which we later let go), and showed us how to swing off the hay bales on a cable, through the barn door and drop on the loose hay on the bottom. It was always something new. I always thought him one of my most handsome cousins!
Although I rarely saw him after that, I did see him again in 2015 at my father's funeral, where we chatted and he introduced me to his wife. Although I may not have seen him hardly at all, I'm very sad to hear of his death. It will be a poorer world for not having him in it.
