Dorothea (Dottie) Noreen Little
Dottie lost her battle with cancer April 7, 2016 at the age of 78. Born in Tyrone, PA. Born Sept 26, 1937, the youngest of 5 children. She married Roy Little in Cherry Point, NC in 1957. The first 20 years of her married life was being a Marine Corp wife raising 4 children. They lived on both coasts number of times. She loved her Marine Corp family and friends. She enjoyed beach camping at San Onofre. After Roy retired she became a CNA and worked in a few hospitals until they moved to Twin Peaks, CA. She and Roy joined the Elks Lodge and made many more friends. They spent 15 years enjoying the mountains.
She loved taking road trips to visit her daughter and sister in AZ where she loved hanging out at the pool. She traveled with her sister to the east a number of times.
They moved to Ogden, Utah in 1996 to took care of Roy as his Alzheimer’s progressed. After his passing in July of 2000, she went to work for Wal-Mart Harrisville. She earned the nickname (Energizer Bunny) from her coworkers. She enjoyed her job and loved her coworkers.
One of her favorite things was her annual trip to Country Jam Colorado. She had gone 9 years running. She loved country music, her favorite was Luke Bryan. She will be missed by all there.
In 2012 she was diagnosed with Stage 4 Colon Cancer. After 2 surgeries and many days of chemo she returned to work a year later. There was no keeping her down.
She is preceded in death by her husband Roy, her parents, 2 sisters and 2 brothers.
She is survived by her children Kim (Steve) Bennett, Michael (Nora) Little, Jackie (Mike) Garvey, and her baby Ron Little. Also 6 grandchildren Jeremy, Kara, Ryan, Janel, LJ and Sami. She was affection- ally called GG by these 9 great-grandchildren, Calla, Desi, Jaiden, Austin, Peyton, Isabel, Rya, Kaliya and Fallonn.
The family would like to express their thanks to Dr Jordan, Dr Gray, Dr Balcombe, the wonderful nursing staff at Ogden Regional, the great nurses at Dr Gray’s Office, and thank you Shelby and Natalie from Access Hospice for the final hours.
Dottie requested A Celebration Of Life Party instead of a funeral.
