Douglas was born on September 23, 1932, in Moreland, Idaho, to Jesse and Genevieve Lindsay. He spent his childhood in Moreland. He was a veteran of the Korean War. He served as a missionary for The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints in the East Central States mission. Returned home and later married Louise Roberts in the Salt Lake Temple on December 28, 1959. Moved his newly formed family to Inglewood, California, where he worked as an airline mechanic for American Airlines. He later moved his growing family to Huntington Beach, California. Worked many years at Los Angeles Airport and finished up at Orange County Airport. In total he worked over 34 years for American Airlines. He was a soft-spoken man but gave powerful testimony of the truthfulness of the gospel. Doug and Louise served for many years in the baptistery of the Provo, UT temple. He served in many callings as a member of the church.
Our family loved the yearly visits to Island Park/Yellowstone National Park to snowmobile. Extended family members enjoyed it as well. No matter where we went on vacations or the places we visited, our dad always took us to church!
After retirement he and Louise moved to Elk Ridge, UT, and lived there until the end of 2018. Five years ago, they made their final move to West Haven, Utah. Memorial services will be held on Saturday, February 3, 2024, at 11:00 am at the Wilson 5th Ward building located at:
