Edith Margot-Ursula Mogensen 80, passed away peacefully in Ogden Utah on Friday December 16th.

Edith loved working and spending time in her flower and vegetable garden and sold cucumbers for years directly to the public. She loved her dogs and over the years had many special companions most recently her beloved Wolfen. She attended school in Prenzlauer Berg Berlin Germany and 2 years of Business College in Berlin Germany. She worked at the IRS for 22 years as a data transcriber, supervisor and tax examiner. Edith is survived by her Husband of 56 years Donald H. Mogensen; daughter Marion E.(Lex) Miller, and son Don P. (Tammy) Mogensen; her grandchildren Jesika (Tyson) Bair, Kristian Miller, Kiefer Mogensen, Alex (Ashlee) Visser, Caitie (Alex) Govern and 4 great grandchildren. She was preceded in death by her parents. Rest in Peace Mom.
She was an amazing woman who had an amazing life and always had a story to tell, especially about her childhood and her memories of life growing up in Germany during the war. As a young child, she was subjected to many events that most people could not imagine going through, making her the strong willed person we’ve always known her to be. If there was an obstacle or she was determined to do something she always found a way around it or figured out a way to succeed in her endeavors. An example of her strength was when she moved to the United States in 1962 with only her small daughter, while waiting for her husband's military tour to end. On her own and in a strange country she was able to get from New York to Utah and find a job until her husband was able to join her. Her determination and success in taking care of herself and her small child in a foreign country was truly amazing and speaks volumes about her courage and strength. She always worked hard and always had the best intentions when it came to helping her family. She spent many summer days and evenings teaching her grandkids to play Gin Rummy. She loved to knit and Crochet and make items for family and friends. She was a very special person to know. We will miss her every day.
A special Thank You to the staff at Peachtree place and Brighton Home and Hospice for helping with her care and making her comfortable.
