Edward L Heinz's Obituary
It's with heavy hearts that we announce the passing of Edward Heinz, who peacefully passed away at home on August 14, 2024. Ed was born in American Fork on September 19, 1959, to Elmer Leo Heinz and Verona Ann Hiatt Heinz.
Ed starting out as a hod carrier as a child working in the family masonry business. He then worked his way up and mastered the skills of a journeyman bricklayer, finally taking over and running the business, Heinz and Sons Masonry
Ed was a dedicated Masonic Lodge member, a Cub Scout leader, and a Little League coach. He was always there to cheer on his kids, even if it meant getting kicked out of games while coaching. Later in life he would attend his grandkids activities. He also enjoyed many hobbies including, hunting big game, shooting, boating, camping, reading books and he especially enjoyed visiting and the company of others, particularly his family and friends.
Over the years, he was not only a father but also a son, a brother, an uncle, a great-uncle, a grandfather, a great-grandfather, a cousin and a friend to many.
He is survived by his children Trish (Orem, Utah), Ralph (Lakewood, CO), and Spencer (Tracey) (Mapleton, Utah). Also survived survived by his brothers, Steve (Deanne)(Provo, UT) and Todd (Del Mar, CA), as well as his grandchildren and great-grandchildren. He is preceded in death by his parents, Elmer and Verona, his brother Robert, his sister Vickie Lynn, and many other family members.
We will fondly remember his good nature, funny stories (even the ones that were exaggerated), and sense of humor, even if it wasn’t always the most appropriate. The family is deeply grateful for the outpouring of condolences and support during this difficult time. Your kindness has been a source of comfort and strength for us.
We would like to invite you to a graveside celebration of life, where everyone is invited to share stories or memories of Ed on August 28th, 2024 at 11:00 am in Payson City Cemetery, 400 North 800 East Payson, Utah. (Southwest end of the cemetery, between A and B street on 3rd street inside the cemetery) A lunch will be held following the graveside celebration at the church located at 85 East 700 North Orem, Utah. We hope this will be a time of joy and reflection, as we remember the wonderful person Ed was. Your kindness and support are truly appreciated.
