Edward Eugene Nixon Sr's Obituary
Edward Eugene Nixon Sr., West Haven UT, 78, died January 8, 2023 peacefully in his sleep. He was born January 24, 1944, in Monett, MO, the son of Earl Alonzo and Mary Jane (Caffey) Nixon.
Ed was a fun loving person who always seemed to find a way to either trick or treat family members and friends. He enjoyed playing pinochle with family and was known to indulge in frequent trips to Wendover to play some Keno slots. He always wanted to help around the house even when his eyesight was failing in his later years and always gave 100% to everything he did.
He is survived by his wife of 38 years, Nadine, three sisters, Sandra Mitchener, TX, Margaret Harper, KS, Joyce Dix, OK and one brother Neely Nixon, TX. His sons, Edward Eugene Jr., KS and Jeff Nixon, KS. Step Children, Joe Mills (Rhonda), WA, John Mills, WA and Jennifer French (James), UT. He had 12 grandchildren and 22 great-grandchildren.
He is predeceased by both of his parents, one daughter, Ruth Ann and one step-son, Jimbo Mills.
Nadine wishes to give grateful thanks to Jennifer and James for opening their home, their support and their counsel the last few years through these troubled times. In addition, the family wishes to acknowledge the wonderful care he received from Atlas Home Healthcare and Hospice. Special thanks to Sydney, Shannon and Shanna; without whom, we do not feel we would have been able to make it through the past few months.
A celebration of life will be held at a later date.
