I worked with Lamar for about 30 years. He was the best manager I ever had. He was able to make the best decisions with the least amount of information available in the shortest time. He was a great listener, had a great sense of humor and was a patient boss. His dedication to his job was evident, and he always treated me with respect.
In the late 1960's, both couples were starving students, Lemarr and Cheri at Utah State University, Jack (Cheri's brother) and Carolyn both students at BYU. We were both recently married, so we decided to go on a camping trip to southern Utah. We went to Navajo Lake - it was a good memory!
Another time, we traveled to Logan for a visit. We took a field trip up the canyon to the overlook of Bear Lake. We took a picnic lunch, Lemarr made four sandwiches out of one small can of tuna fish! You could almost taste the tuna!
Our families also enjoyed family gatherings when we both lived either in the midwest or the east. We would stay at their home or they would stay at ours.
