F. Lemarr Rock's Obituary
Remembering the Charitable Life of Lemarr Rock
Lemarr Rock's legacy lives on in the hearts of those who knew him. He was born on May 11, 1945 in Waynesboro, Franklin, PA. He wed his eternal companion, Cheryl Theler Rock, in the Logan Utah Temple on May 6, 1969. He is survived by his loving children: Michael James, Kristy Anna, Tina Ann (Phifer), Daniel Lemarr, and Jenny Elizabeth. He looked forward to a joyous reunion with two who have passed away, Wendy Susanne (Davis) and Jacob Thomas. He has 24 wonderful grandchildren and 4 great-grandchildren, with another 3 on the way. Family has been his greatest joy and accomplishment.
Throughout his life, Lemarr was an avid learner and seeker of knowledge and wisdom. He attended Ricks College and earned a bachelor’s degree in Speech and English from Utah State University. Lemarr went on to complete an MBA from Indiana Wesleyan University.
Lemarr's dedication to The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints as an Area Facilities Manager spanned 24 years of faithful service. He completed two church missions, serving in the Northern Indian Mission and later, with his wife, on Temple Square. He also held various callings in the church, including bishop and patriarch, and touched the lives of many with his selfless service.
Lemarr would often speak of growing up in the country and his yearning to return to the hills and apple orchards. He found solace in the Swiss countryside, where he explored old barns and found inspiration.
The youngest child of 7 children, and the only boy, Lemarr's memory is cherished by sisters Norma Marlene Ricker and Donna Jean Brown. He was preceded in death by his mother Anna Katherine Berger and his sisters Myrna Lavonne Fields, Judith Ann Peiffer, Nancy Lou Graver, and Brenda Eileen Rock.
His life, his example, and his unwavering faith will always be remembered.
