Frank "Hank" J Brock's Obituary
Frank Hank Brock passed away on September 4th, 2024 at his home in South Salt Lake City, Utah.
Hank was born on July 19, 1955, in Richfield, Utah, to Howard "Jim" and Thelma Yvonne Brock. After working in a plutonium mine for a few years, Jim and Thelma moved the family to Salt Lake City, Utah.
After high school, Hank taught himself to play the guitar, eventually playing in local bands where he honed his musical talent. He later formed his own group, "The High Falootin Band," which played throughout the Western United States with great success. To help pay the bills, Hank worked at Mark Steel, though music remained his first passion. His second love was his 2007 Dyna Glide Harley-Davidson motorcycle.
Hank had a great sense of humor and made friends wherever he went. To know Hank was to love him. He was always willing to lend a hand to those in need. If someone needed shelter, Hank would invite them into his home, crack open a "barley pop," and play them a song. That was just the kind of man he was—a beautiful and amazing soul. He will be deeply missed by all who knew him.
Hank was preceded in death by his parents, Howard "Jim" and Thelma Yvonne Brock; his son, Casey; his brother, Scott; and his beloved dogs, Riyley, Bob, and Guss. He is survived by his daughter, Amanda Hughes; his sister, Linda; his dog, Jimmy; his cat, Scrappy; and his grandchildren.
A special thank you to Susan for her loving care of Hank. A celebration of his life will be posted on Facebook in about three weeks.
