Frankie Joseph Locascio's Obituary
Frankie Joseph Locascio of Roy, Utah, passed away peacefully at home on August 4, 2025, surrounded by his loved ones. Born on October 12, 1948, in San Jose, California, to Frank and Willie Locascio, Frankie later graduated from Box Elder High School and went on to earn his Machinist Degree. He built a long and successful career working for both Thiokol and Hill Air Force Base.
Frankie married Kathy Kopinitz on October 20, 1967, and together they raised four children: Traci, Stephanie, Dale, and Cody. Although they later divorced, Frankie found love again when he met Gayle Cattelan in 1989. Together, they blended their families—Gayle’s daughters Lena, Jeannie, and Alesha became a part of Frankie’s life, and he loved them as his own. Years later, they were married on January 16, 2002, a beautiful celebration of their long-standing bond.
Frankie was known for his enormous heart, his hilarious sense of humor, and his ability to make everyone around him laugh. He brought joy to every room and comfort to everyone who needed it. He had a special love for his children, his animals, and life’s simple pleasures—camping with family, hot dogs, cracking jokes, and driving his Slingshot. His pets were his pride and joy and were truly like his children.
Frankie is survived by his loving wife, Gayle; daughters Jeannie Spell (Kerry), Traci Pitcher, Stephanie Bair (Tim), Alesha Pluta (Keith); and sons Dale Locascio (Sarah) and Cody Locascio (Kirsten). He leaves behind 17 grandchildren and 13 great-grandchildren who adored him.
He was preceded in death by his parents, Frank and Willie Locascio; daughter Lena Miller; and grandson Austin Miller.
Though his battle with cancer was brief, Frank’s impact on those who loved him will last forever. His kind heart, laughter, and unwavering love will be missed more than words can express.
A celebration of life will be held on Saturday, August 9, 2025, at 2:00 p.m. at Premier Funeral Services, 5335 South 1950 West, Roy, Utah.
