Nammy is my grandma, and she will be greatly missed. She was always so thoughtful, sending her love to Colorado. Her wit and memory were very sharp. She was always put together with her hair curled, a coordinated outfit, makeup, lipstick, and jewelry.
I remember being so excited to visit her as a child. There were so many things unique to Nammy’s house. The player piano (my favorite scroll was The Rainbow Connection), the park behind the back gate, Twinkies, the ghost room, antique furniture, the organ, red carpet, a gumball machine, cool toys, an excellent VHS collection, and her, of course.
Nammy used to come to Colorado in the summers. She even took us to Waterworld, a giant water park, when she was in her 60's and went on all the rides with us kids. One night, while she was visiting, there was an incredible lightning storm. She wanted to eat big bowls of ice cream and watch.
Nammy was a talented seamstress and quilter. I still have the beautiful sunflower blanket, and my brothers have jean blankets that she made. She used to say that our family was closer to the veil than others were. I believe her and that if you want to talk to her, she will hear you. I love you Nammy!
